Idle Speed Regulator

  1. Attach harness Adapter (7195) to Idle Speed Tester (7088). Connect harness adapter and idle speed tester to idle speed regulator harness connector.
  2. Connect idle speed tester (7088) to vehicle battery. Start engine. Put Idle Speed Tester's switch in "RETRACT" position, then in "EXTEND" position. Idle speed regulator should increase and decrease idle speed.
  3. If idle speed changes, regulator is functioning properly. If idle speed does not change, disconnect air hoses from idle speed regulator. Watch for valve to open and close while activating idle speed regulator. If idle speed regulator valve does not move while activating regulator, replace idle speed regulator.
