Starter Relay

  1. Turn ignition on. Starter relay is connected to vehicle during testing. Connect a voltmeter between Black/White wire and ground. Turn ignition switch to "START" position. Voltmeter should read battery voltage. If voltmeter does not read battery voltage, replace defective starter relay or repair open circuit from ignition switch.
  2. Connect voltmeter between 2 Green wires and ground one at a time on starter relay. Turn ignition switch to "START" position. Voltmeter should read battery voltage. If voltmeter does not read battery voltage, repair ground circuit.
  3. Connect voltmeter between Green/White wire and ground. Turn ignition switch to "START" position. Voltmeter should read battery voltage. If voltmeter does not read battery voltage, replace starter relay.
