EGR Valve Solenoid
This solenoid is controlled by the ECU. When engerized, the solenoid prevents vacuum from reaching the EGR valve. When de-energized, the solenoid allows vacuum to the EGR valve.
The solenoid is engerized during engine warm-up, closed throttle, wide open throttle and rapid acceleration/deceleration. If the solenoid wire connector is disconnected, the EGR valve will be operational at all times, resulting in poor engine performance.
