EGR Solenoid
- With engine at normal operating temperature, connect vacuum gauge to manifold vacuum. See Fig 1
and Figure
. Vacuum gauge should read a minimum of 15 in. Hg. If vacuum is low, check hose for damage, kinks and proper connection. If vacuum is okay, proceed to step 2).
- Disconnect vacuum line from transducer side of solenoid (output side) and connect vacuum gauge. If the reading is zero inches of vacuum, go on to step 3). If not, check solenoid/ECU operation with Diagnostic Readout Box (DRB-II), repair as necessary.
- Disconnect electrical connector at solenoid. Vacuum gauge should now show vacuum present. If there is no vacuum, replace solenoid. Proceed to EGR VALVE.
