EGR System (Federal)

  1. Disconnect vacuum hose (Green striped) from throttle body. Connect a hand vacuum pump to vacuum hose.
  2. Start engine. Let idle. With engine coolant temperature 122°F (50°C) or less, apply vacuum (no specification). Vacuum should leak.
  3. With engine coolant temperature 185°F (85°C) or more, apply 1.7 in. Hg. Vacuum should be maintained. Apply 7.5 in. Hg. Engine should exhibit slightly unstable idle condition.
