Fuel System Pressure Release

WARNING: High fuel pressure may be present in fuel lines and component parts. Relieve pressure before attempting to open system for testing or component replacement. DO NOT  allow fuel to flow onto engine or electrical parts or allow an open flame in area while testing fuel system components.
  1. Ensure fuel line is covered with shop towel prior to removal to prevent personal injury. Fuel pressure will be released when fuel line is removed.
  2. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel tank filler cap to release fuel pressure. Wrap fuel line around shop towel prior to disconnecting fuel line.
