Idle Speed Regulator Test

  1. Attach Harness Adapter (7195) to Idle Speed Exerciser (7088). Connect harness adapter and idle speed exerciser to idle speed regulator harness connector.
  2. Connect idle speed exerciser to vehicle battery. Start engine. Put idle speed exerciser switch in EXTEND position, then in RETRACT position. Idle RPM should change if idle speed regulator is functioning properly.
  3. If idle speed changes, regulator is functioning properly. If idle speed does not change, disconnect air hoses from idle speed regulator. Watch for valve to open and close while activating idle speed regulator. If idle speed regulator valve does not move while activating regulator, replace idle speed regulator.
