Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

  1. Loosen throttle cable. With ignition off, connect a digital volt-ohm meter (DVOM) between Electronic Control Unit (ECU) terminals No. 19 and 24. Turn ignition on. DO NOT  start engine.
  2. Check TPS voltage. See TPS VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION  . Adjust TPS until correct voltage is obtained. Turn ignition off and disconnect DVOM. Adjust throttle cable. Disconnect negative battery cable for 10 seconds or more. Start engine and check idle speed.
