Idle Position Switch (1.8L)

  1. On 1.8L, idle position switch is integral with idle speed control servo, located on throttle body. Disconnect idle speed control servo connector. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between idle speed control servo terminal No. 3 and body ground. See Fig 1 .
  2. With accelerator pedal depressed, continuity should not exist. With accelerator pedal released, continuity should exist. Replace idle speed control servo assembly if it does not test as specified.
