Idle Position Switch (2.0L)

  1. On 2.0L, idle position switch is located on throttle body. Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) connector. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between TPS terminal No. 1 and ground. See Fig 1 .
  2. With accelerator pedal depressed, no continuity should exist. With accelerator pedal released, continuity should exist. Replace idle position switch if it does not test as specified.
