EGR Valve

  1. Remove EGR valve and check it for sticking and carbon deposits. Clean EGR valve to ensure tight valve seat contact. Connect a hand held vacuum pump to EGR valve.
  2. Apply 19 in. Hg vacuum and check that vacuum holds. Check that air blows through EGR ports. Release vacuum and apply 1.8 in. Hg vacuum or less. Check that air does not blow through EGR ports.
