Purge Control Valve (Turbo Models)

  1. Remove purge control valve. Lightly blow air into purge control valve fitting "D". Check that air does not blow through to fitting "C". See Fig 1 .
  2. Using a hand held vacuum pump, apply 8 in. Hg vacuum to fitting "A". Lightly blow air into purge control valve fitting "D". Check that air blows through to fitting "C".
  3. Apply 16 in. Hg vacuum to fitting "A". See Fig 1 . Check to see that vacuum holds. Apply 16 in. Hg vacuum to fitting "B". Check to see that vacuum holds.
  4. Replace purge control valve if it does not test as described.
