Fuel Pressure Control Valve (Turbo Models)

  1. Mark fuel pressure control valve vacuum hoses for installation reference. Disconnect fuel pressure control valve Blue striped and Black vacuum hoses. Disconnect fuel pressure control valve electrical connector.
  2. Connect battery voltage to fuel pressure control valve terminals. Using a hand held vacuum pump, apply vacuum to fitting from which Black vacuum hose was connected.
  3. When battery voltage is applied, vacuum should hold. When battery voltage is disconnected, vacuum should not hold.
  4. Disconnect battery voltage. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between fuel pressure control valve terminals. Resistance should be approximately 36-46 ohms at 68°F (20°C).
  5. Replace fuel pressure control valve if it does not test as described.
