Throttle Position Sensor
- Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Turn ignition on. DO NOT start engine. Using DVOM, measure voltage at harness connector terminal C. See Fig 1
. Voltmeter should indicate approximately 5 volts.
- Turn ignition off and reconnect throttle position sensor. Backprobe TPS connector terminal B to ground. With ignition on, DVOM should indicate 0.5 volt at idle and gradually increase to 4.5 volts at wide open throttle. Replace TPS if it does not test as indicated. Throttle position sensor is not adjustable.
