Checking Fuel Pressure
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel tank filler cap to relieve fuel tank pressure. Install fuel tank filler cap. Place shop towels around quick-disconnect fitting to absorb spilled fuel.
- Disconnect Black fuel supply tube from fuel rail using Fuel Line Disconnect (6182). See Figure . Slide fuel line disconnect over nipple and up into the connector until the handle fits connector. Pull fuel supply tube off fuel rail.
- Install Fuel Tube Adapter (6175) between Black fuel supply line and fuel rail. Attach 0-60 psi Fuel Pressure Gauge (5069) on port of fuel tube adapter. Start engine and check fuel pressure. Fuel pressure should be 43 psi (3.0 kg/cm2 ). Fuel pressure regulator is not adjustable.
NOTE:
The fuel system uses a fuel pump with a maximum output of 135 psi (9.5 kg/cm2
). Pressure is regulated at the fuel rail by the pressure regulator.
