- If engine controller has been changed and vehicle is equipped with factory theft alarm system, start engine at least 20 times to activate theft alarm system.
- Connect DRB-II to engine diagnostic connector. Erase fault messages. Disconnect DRB-II. Ensure no other fault messages are present. To ensure no other fault messages are present, start engine. If vehicle is equipped with A/C, turn A/C on. Set blower speed to LOW.
- Drive vehicle for about 5 minutes. During this time, attain a speed greater than 40 MPH. Ensure transmission shifts through all gears. Upon completion of road test, turn engine off.
- Start engine. Allow engine to idle for about 2 minutes. Turn engine off. Connect DRB-II to engine diagnostic connector. Using DRB-II, check for fault messages. If no fault messages are present, test is complete.
