Throttle Position Sensor

  1. Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). Turn ignition on. DO NOT  start engine. Using DVOM, measure voltage at harness connector terminal "C". See Fig 1 . Voltmeter should indicate approximately 5 volts.
  2. Turn ignition off, and reconnect TPS. Backprobe TPS connector terminal "B" to ground. With ignition on, DVOM should indicate 0.5 volt at idle and should gradually increase to 4.5 volts at wide open throttle. Replace TPS if it does not test as indicated. TPS is not adjustable.
