Test 15B - OTIS Screen Blank

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
  1. Check if Overhead Travel Information System (OTIS) screen is blank. If OTIS screen is blank, go to next step. If OTIS screen is not blank, go to TEST 15F  .
  2. Check if OTIS is the only blank screen/display. If OTIS is the only blank screen/display, go to next step. If OTIS is NOT the only blank screen/display, go to step 4).
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect OTIS 4-pin connector. With DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on OTIS 4-pin connector ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open circuit in Black/Light Green wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect OTIS 4-pin connector (if necessary). With DRB-II in voltmeter mode, check voltage on OTIS 4-pin connector fused ignition feed circuit (Dark Blue/White wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace OTIS module. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  5. If voltage is less than 10 volts, access fuse/junction block. Fuse/junction block is located behind end cover, on left side of instrument panel. With DRB-II in voltmeter mode, check voltage on fused ignition feed circuit side of fuse No. 14 (Dark Blue/White wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open circuit in Dark Blue/White wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  6. If voltage is less than 10 volts, use DRB-II in voltmeter mode to check voltage on ignition switch feed circuit side of fuse No. 14 (Dark Blue wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace fuse No. 14. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open circuit in Dark Blue wire between ignition switch and fuse/junction block. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
