Test 29A - Wiper Switch Power Supply
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Check (wiper) fuse No. 10 in fuse/junction block. Fuse/junction block is located behind end cover, on left side of instrument panel. If fuse is blown, go to TEST 30A.
- If fuse is not blown, remove fuse No. 10 from fuse/junction block. With DRB-II in voltmeter mode, check voltage on ignition feed circuit side of fuse No. 10 (Black/White wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open circuit in Black/White wire between fuse and relay. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If voltage is less than 10 volts, disconnect ignition switch connector. Connector is located on upper part of steering column, behind trim cover. With DRB-II in voltmeter mode, check voltage on ignition switch connector fused battery feed circuit (Red wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open circuit in Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If voltage is more than 10 volts, use an external ohmmeter to check ignition feed acc/run circuit resistance between fuse No. 10 and ignition switch connector (Black/White wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open circuit in Black/White wire between fuse and ignition switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace ignition switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
