Test 2B - Mic Gauge Problem

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at the end of this article.
  1. Using DRB-II, actuate each gauge of the Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) from low to high and then return gauge to its original position. If gauge(s) did not pass the actuation test, go to TEST 7A.
  2. If gauge(s) passed the actuation test, check if fuel gauge is operating properly. If fuel gauge is not operating properly, stop actuation test and go to TEST 8A.
  3. If fuel gauge is operating properly, check if temperature gauge is operating properly. If temperature gauge is not operating properly, stop actuation test and go to TEST 6A.
  4. If temperature gauge is operating properly, check if speedometer is operating properly. If speedometer is not operating properly, stop actuation test and go to TEST 9A. If speedometer is operating properly, stop actuation test and diagnose vehicle for a tachometer problem. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANEL article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT Section.
