Test 34B - Washer Pump Controls
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Ensure washer fluid lines and nozzles are not damaged or restricted. Repair as necessary. Disconnect windshield washer pump connector. With DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on windshield washer pump connector ground circuit (Black wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open circuit in Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, press and hold windshield washer button on end of wiper/washer stalk. With DRB-II in voltmeter mode, check voltage on windshield washer pump connector washer pump control circuit (Brown wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open circuit in Brown wire between wiper/washer switch and windshield washer pump connector. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace windshield washer pump. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
