Test 49B - Headlight Switch Fused Output Circuit Short
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Disconnect Body Controller Module (BCM). Module is located behind right kick panel. With DRB-II in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Bone connector terminal No. 3, headlight switch fused output circuit (Red/Light Green wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair short to battery in Red/Light Green wire and replace fuse No. 5. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If voltage is less than 10 volts, use DRB-II in ohmmeter mode to check resistance on BCM Bone connector terminal No. 3, headlight switch fused output circuit (Red/Light Green wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Red/Light Green wire and replace fuse No. 5. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
