Test 46A - Courtesy Light/Dash Switch Circuit Short
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
- Disconnect headlight switch 8-pin connector from behind switch. Using DRB-II, read courtesy light switch status. If DRB-II does not display COURTESY SW: CLOSED, replace courtesy light dash switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If DRB-II does display COURTESY SW: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect Body Controller Module (BCM). Module is located behind right kick panel. With DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on BCM Gray connector terminal No. 11, courtesy light switch sense circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
