Test 46A - Courtesy Light/Dash Switch Circuit Short

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
  1. Disconnect headlight switch 8-pin connector from behind switch. Using DRB-II, read courtesy light switch status. If DRB-II does not display COURTESY SW: CLOSED, replace courtesy light dash switch. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If DRB-II does display COURTESY SW: CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect Body Controller Module (BCM). Module is located behind right kick panel. With DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance on BCM Gray connector terminal No. 11, courtesy light switch sense circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Red wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
