Test 7C - Short To Battery

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  at end of article.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 8, CCD bus positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 6, left front door ajar sense circuit (Tan wire).
  2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown and Tan wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 7, CCD bus negative circuit (White/Black wire), and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 6, left front door ajar sense circuit (Tan wire).
  3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black and Tan wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 8, CCD bus positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 3, door ajar sense circuit (Tan/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown and Tan/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  4. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 7, CCD bus negative circuit (White/Black wire), and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 3, door ajar sense circuit (Tan/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black and Tan/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  5. Check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 8, CCD bus positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and terminal No. 5, key-in light control circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown and Yellow/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  6. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 7, CCD bus negative circuit (White/Black wire), and terminal No. 5, key-in light control circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black and Yellow/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
  7. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, using DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of BCM Bone connector terminal No. 21, system ground circuit (Black wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check resistance of BCM Bone connector terminal No. 14, signal ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire).
  8. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Green wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
