Test 7C - Short To Battery
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
at end of article.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 8, CCD bus positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 6, left front door ajar sense circuit (Tan wire).
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown and Tan wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 7, CCD bus negative circuit (White/Black wire), and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 6, left front door ajar sense circuit (Tan wire).
- If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black and Tan wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 8, CCD bus positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 3, door ajar sense circuit (Tan/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown and Tan/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 7, CCD bus negative circuit (White/Black wire), and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 3, door ajar sense circuit (Tan/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black and Tan/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- Check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 8, CCD bus positive circuit (Violet/Brown wire), and terminal No. 5, key-in light control circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Violet/Brown and Yellow/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 7, CCD bus negative circuit (White/Black wire), and terminal No. 5, key-in light control circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between White/Black and Yellow/Red wires. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, using DRB-II in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of BCM Bone connector terminal No. 21, system ground circuit (Black wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, check resistance of BCM Bone connector terminal No. 14, signal ground circuit (Black/Light Green wire).
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black/Light Green wire. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM. Perform VERIFICATION PROCEDURE VER-1.
