Diagnostic Procedure (Using DRB)

NOTE: Before proceeding with diagnosis, certain precautions must be followed. See PRETEST INSPECTION .

Refer to ENTERING ON-BOARD DIAGNOSTICS (USING DRB) to retrieve fault codes. If fault codes are not present and DRB is used, proceed to one of the following tests:

Go to TEST NS-1A (No-Start Test) if a no-start condition exists or engine stalls after start-up. See appropriate diagnostic test in this article. After repairs, perform indicated VERIFICATION PROCEDURE test. Ensure self-diagnostic tests apply to engine being tested.
Go to TEST DR-1A (Driveability Test) if engine runs but has performance problems. Perform indicated verification procedure after repairs. Ensure self-diagnostic tests apply to engine being tested.
