Test 41A - Left Rear Door Ajar Circuit
NOTE:
Perform TEST 34A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Disconnect left rear door ajar switch connector. Check left rear door ajar switch connector ground strap for damage or corrosion. Repair ground strap as necessary. If ground strap is okay, go to next step.
- Connect jumper wire between ground and Tan/Red wire on left rear door ajar switch connector. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace left rear door ajar switch. If scan tool does not display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Disconnect jumper wire. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 3 (Tan/Red wire) on BCM Gray connector. Using scan tool, read door ajar switch status. If scan tool displays DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, repair open Tan/Red wire. If scan tool does not display DOOR AJAR: CLOSED, replace BCM.
