Test 7B - Bus Short To Battery
NOTE:
For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER. For wiring diagrams, see article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE:
- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 2.0L & 2.4L
- WIRING DIAGRAMS - 2.5L V6
After each repair, perform TEST VER-1 .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position before disconnecting or connecting any module connector.- Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector terminals No. 44 (Yellow wire) and No. 46 (Black/Dark Blue wire) on FJ22 body with 2.0L and F24S body; terminals No. 44 (Yellow wire) and No. 59 (Black/Dark Blue wire) on FJ22 body with 2.5L; or terminals No. 7 (Orange wire) and No. 26 (Violet/Brown wire) on PL body. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Orange/White wire and Violet/Brown wire, Yellow wire and Black/Dark Blue wire, or Orange wire and Violet/Brown wire.
- If resistance is more than 5 ohms, check resistance between PCM connector terminals No. 44 (Yellow wire) and No. 45 (White/Dark Blue wire) on FJ22 body with 2.0L and F24S body; terminals No. 44 (Yellow wire) and No. 60 (White/Dark Blue wire) on FJ22 body with 2.5L; or terminals No. 7 (Orange wire) and No. 46 (White/Black wire) on PL body. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Orange/White wire and White/Black wire, Yellow wire and White/Dark Blue wire, or Orange wire and White/Black wire. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace PCM.
