Test 79A - Low Washer Fluid Lamp Circuit
NOTE:
Perform TEST 78A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal ID, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION

in this article. Perform TEST VER-1 - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Turn ignition off. Wait 60 seconds. Check if washer fluid reservoir is full. Add washer fluid as necessary. If washer fluid reservoir is low and low washer fluid lamp does not come on, go to TEST 79B . If washer fluid reservoir is full, go to next step.
- Turn ignition on. Wait 60 seconds and observe message center. If low washer fluid lamp does not come on, system is operating properly at this time. If low washer fluid lamp comes on, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read washer fluid status. If scan tool displays WASH FLUID: OK, go to step 6). If scan tool does not display WASH FLUID: OK, go to next step.
- Disconnect washer fluid level switch connector from bottom of washer fluid reservoir. If scan tool displays WASH FLUID: OK, replace washer fluid level switch. If scan tool does not display WASH FLUID: OK, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Gray connector. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 17 (Black/Tan wire) on BCM Gray connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Black/Tan wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace BCM.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone connector. Turn ignition on. Observe message center. If low washer fluid lamp comes on, repair short to ground in Red wire. If low washer fluid lamp does not come on, replace BCM.
