Pump Motor Circuit Not Working Properly

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAM.
  1. Stop actuator test. If pump/motor cannot be heard, go to step 3). If pump/motor can be heard running, turn ignition off. If pump/motor cannot be heard, go to next step. If pump/motor can be heard running, replace pump/motor relay. Perform TEST VER-1A.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect CAB 37-pin connector. Inspect, clean or repair connector as necessary. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of CAB connector terminal No. 3 (Gray wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Gray wire. Perform TEST VER-1A. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace CAB. Perform TEST VER-1A.
  3. If vehicle is equipped with traction control, go to TEST 17E. On other models, use scan tool in voltmeter mode to check pump/motor output voltage. Connect a jumper wire between chassis ground and terminal "A" (Gray wire) at pump/motor relay. If scan tool reads PUMP/MOTOR = 10.0 VOLTS, system is operating properly at this time. Perform TEST VER-1A. If scan tool does not read PUMP/MOTOR = 10.0 VOLTS, repair open in Brown/White wire between CAB and pump/motor relay.
