Checking Manifold Absolute Pressure (Map) Sensor Calibration

NOTE: After each repair, perform TEST VER-2  .
  1. Turn engine off. Install vacuum "T" in MAP sensor vacuum hose. Install vacuum gauge. Start engine, and let it idle. If engine will not idle, maintain a constant RPM above idle. Go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, read MAP gauge value. If reading is not within one in. Hg of vacuum gauge reading, replace MAP sensor. If reading is within one in. Hg of vacuum gauge reading, test is complete.
