Diagnosis & Repair Procedure
- Connect voltmeter to Data Link Connector (DLC) ETACS terminal and ground terminal. See Figure . Open and close driver's and passenger's door while monitoring voltmeter. If voltmeter deflects once a door is opened, go to next step. If voltmeter does not deflect, check for open or short in door switch circuits. See WIRING DIAGRAMS in KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM - REMOTE article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section.
- Turn ignition switch to ON position, then to OFF position while monitoring voltmeter. If voltmeter deflects once a switch is operated, replace ETACS-ECU. ETACS-ECU is located behind lower left corner of instrument panel. If voltmeter does not deflect, inspect and repair ignition switch circuits.
