"G" Sensor Testing: 1997

  1. Disconnect "G" sensor connector. Connect Test Harness Set (MB991348) between indicated terminals. See Fig 1 . Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between "G" sensor connector terminals No. 2 and 3. If reading is 2.4-2.6 volts, go to next step. If reading is not 2.4-2.6 volts, check wiring to "G" sensor. Repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace sensor.
  2. Leaving test harness set connected, secure "G" sensor connector so that FRONT mark on mounting surface is facing straight down. Using a voltmeter, check voltage between "G" sensor connector terminals No. 2 and 3. If reading is 3.3-3.7 volts, sensor is okay. If reading is not 3.3-3.7 volts, check wiring to "G" sensor. Repair as necessary. If wiring is okay, replace sensor.
