Wheel Bearing End Play Check

  1. Raise vehicle. Remove rear wheel. Release parking brake lever. On models with disc brakes, remove caliper and brake disc. On models with drum brakes, remove brake drum.
  2. On all models, attach a dial gauge to hub. Move hub in axial direction, and measure end play. Wheel bearing end play should be .002" (.05 mm). If end play exceeds specification, replace rear hub assembly.
