Using Scan Tool (All Models

  1. Ensure ignition is off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under driver side dash. See Figure .
  2. Turn ignition on. ABS warning light should come on as ABS goes into self-diagnostic mode. Refer to scan tool manufacturer's instructions for specific DTC retrieval procedure. Read and record DTCs.
  3. After DTCs are recorded, perform indicated test procedure. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTC)  table and perform appropriate DTC TEST.
  4. After repairs, erase DTCs. See ERASING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  . If DTCs cannot be cleared, ABS-ECU is currently detecting a malfunction.
