Fuel Injector

  1. To check fuel injector resistance, disconnect electrical connector from fuel injector. Using ohmmeter, check resistance between electrical terminals on fuel injector.
  2. Resistance should be 2-3 ohms at 68°F (20°C). If resistance is within specification, reinstall electrical connector and go to next step. If resistance is not within specification, replace fuel injector.
  3. To check fuel injector operation, use stethoscope to listen for operating sound at fuel injector while cranking engine or with engine idling. If no operating sound is heard, check fuel injector driver circuit from Engine Control Module (ECM).
