Fuel Pressure Release
WARNING:
Always release fuel pressure before disconnecting any fuel injection-related component. DO NOT allow fuel to contact engine or electrical components.
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
- Remove rear seat cushion and cover. Disconnect connector for the fuel pump. Connector is located on top of fuel tank at passenger's side front corner of fuel tank.
- Start engine and allow engine to idle until engine stalls. Turn ignition off. Reinstall connector for fuel pump, cover and rear seat cushion. Fuel lines may now be disconnected. Cover fuel lines with shop towel before disconnecting, as some residual fuel pressure may exist.
