Using Scan Tool

  1. Ensure battery is fully charged. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). See DATA LINK CONNECTOR (DLC) LOCATION  table for connector location and number of connections required. Some models require more than one connection to retrieve diagnostic information. See Fig 1-Fig 3 .

    Avenger, Sebring Coupe & Talon(1) Base Of Steering Column
    Breeze, Cirrus Sebring Conv. & Stratus(2) Above Driver's Kick Panel
    Neon2 Lower Left Side Of Dashboard
    (1) Requires 2 connections, one at 12-pin DLC and another at 16-pin DLC.
    (2) Requires one connection at 16-pin DLC.

  2. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool manufacturer's instructions, record all DTCs displayed on scan tool. Once all repairs are made, ensure DTCs are cleared from PCM. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES .
