Ignition Coil Resistance Check
- Using an ohmmeter set in the low scale, connect the leads to the positive and negative primary terminals of the ignition coil. See Fig 1. Resistance reading should be 0.75 - 0.81 ohm.
- Change ohmmeter to the x1000 scale and connect leads to coil negative terminal and coil center tower. See Fig 1. Resistance should be 10, 000-11, 000 ohms.
- If either reading is not to specifications, replace ignition coil.
If not to specifications, replace coil.
