Module, Fuel Pump: Installation: Installation

Align the fuel pump module to the alignment tabs for proper sending unit float operation.
Using a new seal (gasket), install the fuel pump module (4) into the fuel tank opening.
Position the lock ring (3) over top of fuel pump module (4).
Install the fuel pump module locking ring (3) using SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench (special tool #9340, SAE Fuel Pump Lock Ring Wrench) (2). Position the tool into the locking ring and turn the ring till the tabs are locked into the notches.

Connect the return (1), fuel supply (2), and vapor (3) lines to the fuel pump module. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE - QUICK-CONNECT FITTINGS . .

Connect the fuel pump module wiring harness connector (4).
Connect the negative battery cable and tighten nut to 5 N.m (45 in. lb.).
NOTE:
Allow time for air to purge from the fuel lines.
Start the engine and check for leaks at all fuel pump module connections.
Position the fuel pump module cover (1) into position and tighten the screws (2).

Install the rear lower seat cushion (1). Guide the seat belt latches through the rear of the seat.
Install the seat mounting bolts (3) and tighten to 40 N.m (30 ft. lbs.).
