Radiator, Engine Cooling: Removal
NOTE:
The radiator (3) will need to be removed from the vehicle along with the air-conditioning condenser (1) and intercooler (2) as an assembly (cooling module). Once removed, the radiator fan can be removed from the cooling module.
- Disconnect the battery negative cable.
- Remove the engine cover (3).
- Drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the coolant bottle bolts (2), set the bottle (1) aside.
- Disconnect the upper radiator hose from the radiator.
- Disengage the hose retainers (2).
- Unplug the fan connector (6).
- Unplug the fan resistor (1).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the lower radiator hose from the radiator.
- Remove the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL .
- Remove the headlights
- Remove the FEM upper bolts (3) and remove the bumper.
- Disengage the hood latch cable.
- Remove the harness from the loom (2).
- Remove the manifold bolt, separate the lines and remove the gasket. Discard the gasket.
- Tape over or cap the condenser and lines.
- Remove the two bolts (1) at the line support bracket.
- Remove the shroud bolts (2). Pinch the upper mounts (1) and remove the shroud (3).
- Disconnect the CAC inlet at the quick connect (1).
- Disconnect the CAC outlet (3) at the quick connect (1).
- Remove the upper cooling fan mounting bolts (3).
- Lift the cooling module up and off of the lower supports by clearing the lower pins (4) from the mounts.
- Remove the fan mount bolt.
- Compress the catches inward (1 and 2) to allow the fan to be slid out of the mounts.
- Slide the fan to the left to clear the right side mounts.
