Pedal, Accelerator: Installation

The Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) and the accelerator pedal is serviced as a complete assembly including the bracket.

1. Position the accelerator pedal assembly onto the three mounting studs (5).
2. Install the three accelerator pedal retaining bracket nuts (3) and tighten to 12 N.m (9 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the accelerator pedal electrical connector (1) to the APPS (2).
4. Use the scan tool to Reset Accelerator Pedal Adaptives.
5. Before starting the engine, operate the accelerator pedal to check for any binding.
6. If necessary, use a scan tool to erase any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) from the PCM.
