Tank, Fuel: Removal
- Fold the rear seat forward to allow access to the fuel pump cover.
- Remove the mid section carpet liner from under the rear seat.
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Remove the pump access cover (1).
- Disconnect the pump electrical connector (4).
- Disconnect the three fuel lines from the pump (1, 2 and 3)
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE

- Remove the muffler (2) and resonator (3). Refer to MUFFLER, EXHAUST, REMOVAL
.
- Remove the fuel filler connector (5) from the fuel tank (3).NOTE:
The heat shield and the fuel tank support straps are part of the fuel tank and do not require being removed from the tank. If the fuel tank is being replaced. The new tank will have the support straps and heat shield mounted.
- Using a suitable jack. Support the fuel tank.
- Remove the fuel tank (1) from the vehicle.
- Remove the fuel pump module from the tank if the tank is being replaced. Refer to MODULE, FUEL PUMP, REMOVAL .
