Removal And Installation: Installation

  1. Check that the intermediate shaft is not damaged.
  2. Connect the intermediate shaft (1a) to the electric power steering device and tighten the (1b) bolt to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .

  3. Place the electric power steering unit (1a) and respective supporting bracket in position and tighten the fixing bolts (1b).

  4. Connect the intermediate shaft (1a) to the steering box pinion and tighten the new  bolt (1b) to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  5. Install the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the negative battery terminal.
