EGR Function Testing - Volume 1

In some emission control inspection and maintenance areas, vehicles equipped with an EGR system are required to have an EGR functional test. If the function test is not in this section, the manufacturer did not provide a specific test for the EGR system. Often, in later model vehicles, a scanner may provide testing through the PCM for the EGR system. In other cases, EGR testing may available in appropriate diagnostic information. It may be necessary to refer to the EMISSION CONTROL APPLICATION section to determine the appropriate EGR function test to perform.
