PCV System - Diesel: Operation
When engine runs at high speed, high negative pressure from the intake manifold makes the diaphragm valve close. Blow-by gases pass only through the diaphragm orifice. When engine runs at low speed, negative pressure is small, and valve cover pressure makes the diaphragm valve open, allowing blow-by gases to pass through both the regulating orifice and the diaphragm passage.
