Window Motor Test

  1. Separate window motor from regulator. See WINDOW MOTOR R & I in this article. Using 12-volt source, connect positive and negative leads directly to window motor with ammeter in series between window motor and 12-volt source. Operate window motor and observe current draw.
  2. Current draw should not fluctuate or exceed 4 amps. Reverse polarity of wire leads at 12-volt source to reverse window motor operation. Replace window motor if current draw exceeds 4 amps.
