Test F, Trunk Unlock
This test checks keyless entry module, trunk release solenoid and related circuits.
- With ignition on, press trunk release button in glove box. If trunk unlocks, go to step 2). If not, go to step 3). If trunk is always unlocked, go to step 5).
- Disconnect Gray module connector and check continuity between pin No. 7 and trunk release solenoid. If continuity exists, replace keyless entry module and repeat QUICK TEST. If no continuity exists, repair circuit No. 84 (Purple/Yellow wire) and repeat QUICK TEST. If continuity exists, replace keyless entry module and repeat QUICK TEST.
- Check operation of trunk release solenoid using jumper wires and battery. If solenoid is okay, go to step 4). If not, replace solenoid and repeat QUICK TEST.
- Examine keyless entry system circuit breaker No. 12. If circuit breaker is okay, repair open or short in circuit No. 84 (Purple/Yellow wire). Repeat QUICK TEST. If circuit breaker is defective, replace breaker and repeat QUICK TEST.
- Disconnect Gray module connector. If trunk locks, replace keyless entry module and repeat QUICK TEST. If trunk does not lock, go to step 6).
- Disconnect Gray module connector and glove box switch. If trunk locks, replace glove box switch and repeat QUICK TEST. If trunk does not lock, repair short to battery in circuit No. 84 (Purple/Yellow wire) and repeat QUICK TEST.
