Engine Controls - System/Component Tests - 2.2L: Introduction

Before testing separate components or systems, perform all procedures listed in the BASIC TESTING article. Since many computer-controlled and monitored components will set a trouble code if they malfunction, also perform procedures listed in the TESTS W/CODES article.

NOTE: Testing of individual components does not isolate short or open circuits. Perform all voltage tests with a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless specifically stated otherwise in test procedures. Use ohmmeter to isolate shorts or opens in harness.
