Fail-Safe Check

  1. Ensure ABS fail-safe relay is disconnected. Using jumper wire, apply 12 volts between terminals "d" and "e" on ABS fail-safe relay.
  2. Set VOM on 20-k/ohm scale. Check resistance at ABS fail-safe relay between terminals "b" and "f". Resistance should be greater than 10,000 ohms.
  3. Set VOM on 200-ohm scale. Check resistance at ABS fail-safe relay between terminals "c" and "f". Resistance should be less than 5 ohms.
  4. If resistances are as specified, service Yellow/White wire between ABS control module and ABS fail-safe relay. If resistances are not as specified, replace ABS fail-safe relay.
