Anti-Lock Brake System: Description
NOTE:
For more information on brake system, see the BRAKE SYSTEM
article.
CAUTION:
See the ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
article in the GENERAL INFORMATION section.
The Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) functions to modulate fluid pressure to individual wheels to prevent wheels from locking under hard braking conditions. System uses an ABS electronic control unit (located behind left cowl side trim panel), a hydraulic actuator assembly (containing solenoid valves, flow control valves, pump motor and buffer chambers) and a wheel speed sensor and sensor ring at each wheel.
